FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything about publishing vegan and plant-based recipes with Plant Publisher, from your first recipe to your own domain.
Getting started
Do I need to know how to code or run a website?
+
No. You write recipes in a form, and Plant Publisher handles the website, hosting, search listings, and structured data.
What do I need to get started?
+
An account and a name for your site. Your site is live on its own plantpublisher.com address as soon as you create it.
How quickly can I publish a recipe?
+
In a few minutes. Paste the ingredients, write the steps, add a photo, and click Publish.
Writing recipes
What can a recipe include?
+
A title, description, photo, ingredients, steps, prep, cook, and total time, servings and yield, category, cuisine, cooking method, keywords, diet labels, and nutrition facts.
Can I paste in recipes I’ve already written?
+
Yes. Paste a whole ingredient list or set of steps and each line becomes its own item. Drag items to reorder them.
How do photos work?
+
Upload a photo once and pick its 16:9, 4:3, and square crops in the editor, the shapes search engines and social apps use. Every photo lives in your media library, with alt text you can edit.
Can I keep a recipe private while I work on it?
+
Yes. Recipes are private drafts until you publish them, and you can unpublish any time.
Sharing and search
How do I share a recipe?
+
Once published, the recipe’s public link appears on its page. Send it, post it, or put it in your bio; link previews show the recipe’s photo and title.
Will my recipes show up in Google’s recipe results?
+
Every published recipe includes the Recipe structured data Google reads for rich results, plus a sitemap so your recipes get discovered. Whether Google shows a rich result is always up to Google, but you’ll have everything it asks for.
Can I connect Google Search Console?
+
Yes. Paste your Search Console verification tag into your site settings.
What happens to shared links if I rename a recipe?
+
They keep working. The old address redirects to the new one.
Your site
Can I use my own domain name?
+
Yes. Every site starts on a plantpublisher.com address, and you can connect a domain you own whenever you like, with secure HTTPS.
What else is on my site besides recipes?
+
Collections of recipes, pages like About or Start here written in Markdown, and a search box that forgives typos.
Can I change how my site looks?
+
Set your site title, tagline, accent color, favicon, logo, and default sharing image in your site settings.
Teams and plant-based recipes
Can my team help?
+
Yes. Invite people to your organization. Members can write and publish recipes, collections, and pages; admins also manage site settings.
Is it only for vegan recipes?
+
It’s designed for vegan and plant-based creators, with diet labels and tools that fit that work, but you can publish any recipe you like.
